Please read through all instructions before beginning.
· Cut a square of Nylon pantyhose, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
· With doubled thread, run a gathering stitch 5/8" inside edge, around entire piece, rounding off corners. (See illustration 1.)
· Place a medium to large " orange size" ball of fiberfill in the center of gathers.
· Pull up gathers tightly and tie off. This tied area is at the center back of the head. (see illustration 2)
· Pull up a nice nose at center front- hold with pins. ( see illustration 3)
· Wrap strong thread around outside of pins and pull up very tight. Thread one end of thread and sew back and forth under nose "bump" to secure. Pull both thread ends through to back and tie off.
CHEEKS:
· Go in from center back and come out at A. (see illustration 4) Plump up cheek area with long needle.
· Go back in at A, under cheek area, and out at B. Pull gently to form nice rounded cheek and smile. Go back in at B (not in the same hole, a few threads over) and out where you entered at center back. Tie off to retain cheek plumpness.
· Repeat for the other side.
· Sew beads for eyes at A. (see illustration 5)
MOUTH:
· With pink embroidery thread, go in at center back and come out at BC.
· With thread on the outside, go back in at BD and out at center back where you entered. Pull to make a cute smile and tie off. (see illustration 6)
HAIR:
· Sew strip of fur hair from A to A. (see illustration7)
HAT.
· Cut an 8 1/2" diameter circle from the 9" square of fabric.
· Run gathers around entire edge of circle with doubled thread.
· Put a small amount of fiberfill in center of hat to keep plump and pull up gathers to fit head (just over edge of hair).
Secure and sew to head. (see illustration 8)
· Gather 22" of lace, pull up to fit head and sew, covering raw edge of hat gathers.
· Make bow from 1 1/2" ribbon and sew under chin.
· Blush cheeks and re-plump them.
Optional Trimming:
· Tie tiny bows on hair or hat
· Glue tiny flowers or feathers on hat.
To use on the tree, cut 14" of yarn or narrow ribbon sew through top of hat and head just back of ruffle. Tie ends
together to form a 'hanging'loop.
